Imagine you have a jar full of candies. The solvency ratio is like a way to see if you have enough candies to share with your friends, but also keep some for yourself. If your jar has a high solvency ratio, that means you have a lot of candies and can share them without any problem. If the ratio is low, you might run out of candies and that wouldn’t be fun. Businesses use the solvency ratio to make sure they have enough money to pay their bills and still have some left for other things.
ICICI Lombard has a solvency ratio of 2.46 (IRDAI recommended: >1.5)
